Biden Delivers Speech On US-Israel Relations Strain Amidst Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The Joe Biden administration seems to be grappling with the Israeli-Palestine conflict.  The explosions in Israel on Saturday have led to a complicated political and diplomatic situation in the United States.

Experts are saying that it is one of the greatest conflicts in the history of Israelis and Palestinians.

Biden and the Israeli President, Benjamin Netanyahu, have been friends for decades. However, their friendship went down a strained road ever since Netanyahu’s far-right government policies came into the law.

A CNN News article says that a damaged political environment will make it difficult for both parties to enter into a reliable negotiable position.

How Is the US Holding Up Amidst the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict?

In the United States, the Biden administration is already facing blame from the Republican presidential primary campaign for the attacks on Israel. The Republicans are claiming that the Democrats and Biden government have helped fuel attacks on Israel. Apparently, BIden’s recent deal with Iran is the root cause of it all.

Biden had been hoping for the historic normalization of the controversial agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia. The Biden administration was under the impression that it was close to the finishing line.

Altogether, the situation is poiniting to one of the most volatile geopolitical situations that the Biden’s presidency has had to face. To top things off, the war at Ukraine has also been a source of raised political tensions at home.

According to news reports from CNN, on Saturday, a phone call took place between Biden and Netanyahu.

“We stand ready to offer all appropriate means of support to the government and people of Israel.” Biden said.

The citizens saw rockets being fired from Gaza into Israel, in Gaza City. Biden has told that he will be in close contact with Netanyahu.

On Saturday, he delivered a speech from the White House. He stated that the administration will support the Israel’s security. He claimed that the support from his side will be “rock solid and unwavering.”

“When I spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu this morning, I told him the United States stands with the people of Israel in the face of these terrorist assaults. Israel has the right to defend itself and its people, full stop,” he said.
