President Donald Trump is about to host a fundraiser on Thursday for his former personal attorney, Mr. Rudy Giuliani, who is also a criminal co-defendant in his case.
This event could display mass support for Trump and his supporters, republicans feel. It is a parent lavish display of Trump’s loyalty to his attorney and team.
Donald Trump has apparently gathered donors willing to give $ 100,000 each.
This money will be used for funding the legal defense of Mr. Rudy Giuliani.
By now, Mr. Rudy Giuliani has millions in the form of legal bills. They are from all the deformation lawsuits he has been facing.
Trump has 17 other co-defendants. Including him, 18 others are facing a criminal conspiracy case in Georgia. Other than his efforts for a fundraiser, it is not clear to the citizens if Donald Trump will offer financial help.
The 16 other criminal co-defendants are, for now, paying for their own criminal defense. The group is facing charges of scheming to help Donald Trump maintain his position in office as President, even after he lost.
All defendants are now facing the same charge of racketeering under Georgia law, the RICO State Law.
Other than that, they are also facing charges for trying to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Experts in the state’s RICO laws, Georgia State University law professor has said that “Georgia RICO charges are exceedingly hard to finance a defense for under any circumstances, but here Trump not only has state proceedings to litigate but also a potential removal effort in federal court,”
He added, “And with PAC cash being a finite resource, diverting funds toward a legal defense necessarily takes away from something else. It will likely get very costly and undermine political work that might have a larger budget but for the diverted cash.”
Legal bills in criminal cases come in various stages of a criminal case. It gradually racks up from pre-indictment legal advice to post-indictment legal representation.
The charges of a criminal defense attorney will vary on the time they spend preparing and executing the trial.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to all four criminal charges against him. All of these cases are taking place altogether.
To top that off, multiple investigations against Trump are still underway. From the looks of it, Mr. Trump is paying off his legal bills from his personal fortune.
